Welcome
Since
1972, the Faculty Senate of Virginia has
been a representative voice for more
than 15,000 college
and university faculty members in the
Commonwealth. Our purpose is to:
• Provide a forum for the exchange of
ideas, encourage and facilitate the
enrichment of the academic environment
and scholarship, and
strengthen education and learning,
• Act in an advisory and resource
capacity in matters of higher education,
• Participate in formulating policies on academic, educational,
and administrative concerns
affecting faculty, and
•
Develop and implement legislative
strategies to inform political
decisions affecting faculty well being
and higher education. |

business and student groups, we represent the unique
interests of faculty
members across Virginia. Please help by
getting informed about the issues, being
responsive to calls for action, and giving financially to help defray the
cost of operating an active
